Fresh and Local
Southern Cuisine

About Us

Elsewhere on 10th is a small, casually elegant, farm-to-table restaurant nesting in

the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.

Elsewhere's philosophy of honest pleasure is based on finding beauty in living simply, healthfully, compassionately, and setting a seasonal table. We offer freshly baked artisan breads and prepare all of our foods in-house from ingredients derived as locally and seasonally as possible. Our dishes reflect an eclectic blend of new Southern regional and international cuisines.

LIA CHASAR,
OWNER & CHEF

Lia has strong family roots in Wilkes county, but left the foothills straight out of high school in search of adventure.

After several years of living in remote areas of Alaska and the Middle East, she spent twenty years working as a research ecologist, exploring wetlands, streams, and coastal waters across the US.

Before moving back to the Blue Ridge in 2013 she enjoyed a second career as the owner/chef of Wild Greens Community Café and Bakery in Tallahassee, Florida, taking her love of chemistry, education, and sustainability into the kitchen. Lia learned her kitchen skills from her son Jacob, who attended culinary school in Boston and then spent several years working with artisan bakeries in Boone and Asheville, NC.

RENEE WARREN,
CHEF & FARMER

Renee was born and raised in rural North Carolina.  She not only helps design the menus and run the kitchens at Elsewhere on 10th, she is our advisor when it comes to developing community connections and improving the constantly evolving business model of farm to table dining in Wilkes County.

Add to all of that, she is our primary supplier of produce and eggs throughout the year from her farm, Singing Waters, in Purlear, NC.

Renee is an intensely devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and coworker, and is without doubt one of the best intuitive southern cooks in the area.
